DJ Format (real name Matt Ford) is a British DJ, producer and beat-maker whose soulful, funk-infused take on hip-hop has made him a beloved figure in the underground music world since the early 2000s. Hailing from Southampton and now based in Brighton, he first burst onto the scene with his acclaimed debut album Music for the Mature B-Boy — a slow-burn classic celebrated for its infectious breakbeats, clever sampling and standout collaborations with Abdominal, Chali 2na and Akil of Jurassic 5.

The success of that record sparked extensive touring, including support slots with Jurassic 5 and memorable festival appearances across Europe, North America and Australia — establishing Format’s reputation as a dynamic live performer and party starter.
